TyneMet College progressed through to the next round of the ECFA Premier Cup following a convincing win against John Leggot College.
They blew the visitors away in the opening period of the game and took the lead as early as three minutes when a Leroy Wilson cross was turned home by Lewis Howe at the back post.
TyneMet further extended the lead on five minutes a Shane Jones corner was headed home by Connor Brown.
It was one way traffic in the opening period as the visitors looked shell shocked and only a string of fine saves from their keeper stopped the home team from further extending their advantage.
The advantage was further extended on 15 minutes on the clock when a fine solo run was well finished with a powerful strike from 18 yards from Billy Walker.
The home defenders were rarely troubled but did have a wake up call when a long distance strike from 30 yards cannoned back off the crossbar.
During the second half the visitors began to put the home team under a bit more pressure and made them work harder to create openings.
It took until the 88th minute until the final goal of the game, which was a fine team goal involving a number of passes which saw the ball built up from the back and eventually worked its way up to Antonio Manco who played in Kane White with a superb cross field pass. White’s shot was well saved by the visiting keeper but Manco reacted quickest to convert the ball from close range.
