WHITLEY Bay will be hoping to end what has been a successful month with another win, and on paper at least they have an excellent chance to do so.
Their opponents at Hillheads on Saturday are bottom of the table Newton Aycliffe, who after a good first season in the top flight have struggled this time around with only one league victory so far.
However, they picked up a creditable draw at home to Billingham Synthonia last Saturday and there can be no room for complacency from the Hillheads side.
A convincing performance is just what Whitley need ahead of their toughest game of the season so far, away to league leaders Darlington 1883 a week on Saturday.
A mouth-watering encounter awaits Whitley Bay in the quarter-final of the Northumberland Senior Cup.
In the draw made at the weekend, Whitley were paired with Blyth Spartans, with the game to be played at Croft Park next month on a date yet to be arranged.
Although it is several years since Whitley beat Spartans in the Senior Cup, they have happy memories of their last cup tie at Blyth, when six years ago they ran out 2-1 winners in a gripping FA Cup third qualifying round replay.
