Cullercoats Under-15s went above Tynemouth at the top of Pinpoint League division four after winning an 12-goal thriller at Churchill Playing Fields.

Skipper Dan Morton Gave Cullercoats an early lead with two goals in the first ten minutes but Tynemouth hit back to level with goals from Daniel Hall and Connor Lawson.

Reece Aikenclose put Cullercoats back in front before Sam Allonby restored Cullercoats’ two-goal advantage at 4-2.

Tynemouth hit back with a strike from Andrew Tallon before Allonby headed in another Cullercoats goal to make it 5-3 at the break.

Aaron Dixon increased Cullercoats’ lead in the second half when finishing off a cross from Jason Hall before a 40-yard free kick from David Shipley made it 7-3.

Tallon grabbed his second of the game when he headed in a corner to reduce the Tynemouth deficit before Aaron Dixon killed off their hopes with his second to make the final score 8-4.

Both teams paid their respects to fallen heroes with a joint photograph before the game.
