Cup games keep coming for Whitley Bay

Following their FA Cup victory over Congleton last weekend, Whitley Bay transfer their attention to the FA Vase this Saturday.

They face local rivals West Allotment Celtic at Hillheads in the second qualifying round, kick-off 3pm.

Given their record-breaking success in the competition, Bay will be up for it, but for a variety of reasons they will be without several players.

Adam Shanks, Robbie Williamson and new signing Liam Hudson are all suspended while Steve Gibson is unavailable, and there are injury doubts concerning captain Michael Laws.

However, the Hillheads side have greater depth in their squad this season and new signing Michael Bell is in contention for a starting place.

Then on Tuesday, October 6, Whitley are again in cup action when they take on Team Northumbria in the first round of the Techflow Northumberland Senior Cup at Hillheads, kick-off 7.30pm.

This game is dependent on the FA Vase tie being decided at the first attempt.

Should that game go to a replay, it would take place at Whitley Park on Wednesday evening with the Senior Cup tie being put back a week.
