TYNEMOUTH Yellows continued their run of great goals at Valley Gardens as they ran out 5-2 winners against in-form Haltwhistle.
A hat-trick from the impressive Thomas Edwards helped seal this victory and ensured that Tynemouth stayed above the visitors in the league table.
It was Tynemouth Yellows who drew first blood after six minutes when striker Oliver Harrison rounded the advancing keeper and steered the ball home.
After 18 minutes Harry Richardson, Patrick Holliman and Luca Buzzeo all combined well with the latter’s shot saved by the Haltwhistle keeper.
Tynemouth Yellows were in complete control of the game and were unlucky not to have gone into the break with a bigger lead.
Edwards finally got the reward for his endeavours on 37 minutes when he guided the ball into the back of the net following a great through ball from Joey Patsalos.
The Yellows seemed to relax and took their foot of the pedal and the visitors were level within ten minutes with two well taken goals.
But the home side quickly got back into their stride, Edwards notching his second goal and a minute later Buzzeo lobbed both the defence and keeper.
With a minute of the match remaining, the Yellows fifth goal and Edwards’ hat-trick was completed.
He latched on to a poor clearance from the visitors defence and shot right footed.
