Bedlington Juniors moved up to third in the Tyneside Amateur League with a 6-3 win over Newcastle Chemfica Reserves.
Dean Fitch and Andrew McLennan both bagged braces for Karl Porter’s side, with Connor Oliver and Darren Percy also on target. Craig Robinson netted twice for Fica, with their third strike being netted by the victors.
Hazlerigg Victory remain top after a 4-2 win over North Shields Athletic Reserves, who had Nicholas Henderson and player-manager Leeroy Odd on target. Dale Pearson scored twice for Mark Bullock’s Victory, with Richard Coulson and Sean Gent also netting.
Stobswood Welfare lost ground as they were held 1-1 by Ponteland United Reserves in an always competitive fixture. Luke Phillips scored for Welfare, with Ryan Murphy earning Pont a share of the spoils as their recent good form continued.
Forest Hall YPC also slipped up as they lost 1-0 at Wardley, with Anthony Kew netting the only goal.
And Blyth Town Reserves also missed a chance to gain ground at the top as they went down 1-0 at Newcastle Medicals.
The remaining games between Lindisfarne Reserves and West Jesmond, and Newcastle East End and Ryton & Crawcrook Albion Reserves fell victim to the heavy Friday rain in the region.
