Four book their place in cup semi-finals

THE quarter-finals of the David Crichton Memorial Cup took place.

All sides are vying for a place in the final to represent the Standard Security Blyth and Wansbeck League against the winners of the Cramlington Sunday League section.

Ashington Mortimer, Burradon and New Fordley, Ashington Grand and Whitley Bay Seahorse all booked their places in the league semi-finals.

Mortimer eased past Milbourne Arms 5-1. Burradon had an easier passage when they scored seven without reply at home against Cowpen Percy Arms.

North Shields Gunner found Ashington Grand another side with their shooting boots on, as they went down 6-0.

Meanwhile Blyth South Beach put up a good fight before going down 4-1 away to Whitley Bay Seahorse Athletic.

The league would like to wish the two new fathers on the committee, congratulations on their new arrivals.
