Percy Main Amateurs will prepare for life in the Northern Alliance premier division with four testing pre-season games.

On Saturday (July 18) Longbenton, newly promoted to the league’s middle tier, will make the trip to Purvis Park. Admission is free and the game will kick-off at 2pm.

A week later Main will host near neighbours and FA Vase winners North Shields in the eagerly awaited Gary Hull Memorial Trophy, while other Northern League opposition in the shape of West Allotment (Tuesday, July 28) and Brandon United (Saturday, August 1) will also head to North Tyneside.

The league season will commence on August 8 and it will see Percy Main face a tough start at North Shields Athletic, who themselves enjoyed their first ever season in the league’s premier division last time around, recording a creditable fourth place finish, while the first home game four days later will see Main entertain Killingworth Town.

Supporters can expect to see a few new faces in the Villagers’ line-up, among them Dean Ellis a former young player of the year, centre half James Mobberley and young goalkeeper Daniel Nimmins.
