Monkseaton hit eight to comeback for victory

BURRADON and New Fordley reached their second final of the season in Newbiggin 3-1 in the George Davison Cup semi-final.

In a competitive game, Burradon had Michael Chilton in fine form as he scored twice. Graeme Cairns was also on the scoresheet.

In the rescheduled JD Marnock Cup, New Hartley lost 2-1 against New Delaval and Newsham.

In the premier division, Blyth Comrades and Ashington Mortimer shared the points in a 1-1 draw.

North Shields Gunner won the battle near the bottom when they won 2-0 at home against the Milbourne Arms with goals from Ross Meenaghan and Kevin Watler.

Division one saw Cowpen Percy Arms almost secure second place with a 3-1 win at home against Whitley Lodge Kittiwake. Gavin Hattrick scored for the Kittiwake.

Monkseaton Arms had to come from behind to take the points at home against Blyth Masons Arms. The Masons had a two-goal lead through Rob Herron and Nick Brannighan. But Monkseaton hit back, including six second half goals, to take the points with an 8-2 win. Goals from John Wyres (5), Marc Nicholson, Andrew Robinson and Marc Allen.

In the division two, West Allotment won 3-1 at home against the Bay Horse Cramlington but could have scored more but for visiting keeper Aaron Barber. Scoring for Allotment were Karl Obrien, Michael Hartley and Jed Findley.

Marden Residents and Bedlington Community shared the points in a 1-1 draw. Richard Thompson scored for the Residents. Michael Robinson replied for the Community.

North Shields Royal Arms and Ashington Bubbles also ended 1-1. Nicky Thompson scored for the Royal, Stephen Dick for Bubbles.
