The Easter weekend sees Whitley Bay involved in two local derby games.
On Good Friday they travel to Benton to take on West Allotment Celtic in a six pointer with both sides battling to move clear of the relegation zone.
Whitley started the week one point ahead of Allotment and with six games in hand, so should go into the game as favourites, but the match comes less than 48 hours after Wednesday’s League Cup quarter-final at Esh Winning.
Easter Monday sees the eagerly anticipated derby game against North Shields at Hillheads, with a bumper crowd expected.
When the sides last met, back in September at the Daren Persson Stadium, Whitley ran out 2-1 winners, and they will be hoping to complete the league double over their near neighbours.
Much has changed since that game, with Ian Chandler returning as manager at Hillheads, and it will be a very different Bay side that takes to the pitch on Monday.
Shields have been in good form of late and a hard fought game is assured.
As with the Good Friday fixture, the game kicks off at midday and fans are urged to arrive in plenty of time to avoid congestion at the turnstiles.
There is no let up in the fixtures as on Wednesday next week, Whitley face yet another derby game, this time away to FA Vase finalists Morpeth Town, kick-off 7.30pm.
