North Shields Football Club have announced four pre-season encounters with a couple more in the pipeline.
The Robins will visit Spennymoor Town, set to play EVO-STIK NPL football in the next campaign, at the Brewery Field on Saturday, July 19.
Competitively, the sides last met on Moors soil on New Years Day in 1992 in the NCEL with a brace from Gary Nicholson securing the points for the Shieldsmen.
Graham Fenton’s triumphant championship squad will entertain Team Northumbria at the Daren Persson Stadium on Wednesday, July 23, followed by a visit to Wallsend Boys Club on Saturday, July 26, with the Gary Hull Memorial Trophy being competed for at Percy Main on Saturday, August 2.
On August 9, the Robins mark their return to the Northern League First Division with a home clash with Crook Town.
The following Wednesday the Shieldsmen find themselves in North Yorkshire taking on Guisborough Town.
Eagerly awaited clashes with neighbours Whitley Bay are scheduled for November 1 at Hillheads with the return at Shields on March 28, 2015.
The last two competitive fixtures between the sides have been a Northern League Cup win for Bay in 2007, before that it was a Tony Burgess strike that secured the Northumberland Senior Cup for the Robins at St James Park in 1991.
In the coming season’s Northern League Cup competition North Shields will host Newcastle Benfield at the second round stage.
