North Shields FC marked the end of a magnificent season – which clocked up 100 points and promotion – with the annual Robins Awards night.
The management team of Graham Fenton, Andy Bowman and Brian Smith assembled a side filled with quality, character and camaraderie.
Exactly 45 years ago Shields scooped the top prize in non league football with that Wembley triumph, part of a glorious treble and front men Brian Joicey and Tommy Orrick notched 46 and 45 goals respectively.
2013-4 saw another dynamic duo – Gareth Bainbridge and Dan Smart who racked up an incredible 85 goals in competitive matches and deservedly were rewarded.
The top prize, the George Thompson Award North Shields Player of the Year went to Dan Smart.
Bainbridge, with 47 Northern League strikes plus another eight in cup ties including a nap hand versus Whitehaven, seven hat-tricks and 11 braces, received the Supporters Player of the Year and Players Player Trophies.
He also took home the Don Winskill Golden Boot and the Goal of the Season Cup, with all presentations made by North Shields club president Malcolm Macdonald and ground sponsor Daren Persson
The Managers Award went to centre half John Parker.
All the players picked up Northern League tankards and additional salvers for 100 plus club appearances went to Joe Elliott and exciting forward Dean Holmes.
