TyneMet gained their first win of the season after a superb performance at home to rivals Sunderland.
The hosts were on top against Sunderland but it was the visitors who opened the scoring when they took advantage of a quick break leaving them three on one.
TyneMet showed good character and carried on to attack, equalising ten minutes later when Kieran Fenton picked the ball and danced past three defenders then went round the keeper to score.
Danny Penton then scored the goal of the match, hitting a 35-yard screamer into the roof of the net.
The third goal for TyneMet came from super link up play between Antony Smith and Jordan Breem with the former playing in Breem who picked his spot.
Sunderland pulled one back before Ryan Nelson scored TyneMet’s fourth, collecting the ball 45-yards from goal before running on then firing past the keeper.
The visitors pulled another back when the striker’s shot slipped through the keeper’s hands.
Right from the kick off, Nelson played in Nathan Scanton who kept his composure to make it 5-3.
