Northumberland travelled to Middlesbrough AFC Academy for the ESFA North East Counties Under 15 Festival.

They were up against Cleveland, Cumbria, Durham, North Yorkshire and South Yorkshire in a round robin series of games.

Northumberland started their first game against Durham on the front foot to secure a 2-0 win.

They rotated their squad for the next game against Cumbria and took a while to settle. They created chances but lacked the killer instinct to score, until a surging run by Liam Bell (Blyth Academy) who drifted past two players and finished low into the corner.

The third game pitted Northumberland against North Yorkshire which they won 2-0.

Northumberland pressed early on against Cleveland in their fourth game with Scott Woodhouse (Ponteland HS) opening the scoring before they ran out 2-1 victors.

And they capped off a fantastic day by securing a 3-1 win against South Yorkshire in their final game. A header by Owen Davidson (Heaton Manor HS) got Northumberland off to a great start, followed by a tremendous 25-yard strike by Bell. South Yorkshire pulled a goal back but Danny Barlow (Whitley Bay HS) chipped in a fine goal to seal the win.
