BLYTH Rangers Valencia Under-16s bounced back from the previous week’s cup exit in emphatic style as they won 5-0 at Ashington.
Robert Goodall opened the scoring with great control and an even better strike after some good work from Andrew Asman in midfield.
Then Josh Carr’s corner was met by Rhys Brown and his header flew in.
Liam Sinkinson then picked up the ball inside his own half and ran at the Ashington defence before burying a shot into the far corner to make it three.
In total control and looking dangerous every time they went forward, Asman again played in Goodall who made no mistake.
Blyth made five substitutions at half-time and still kept the same tempo, Ross Laidlaw, Ryan Thompson, Asman and Goodall all had chances.
Ashington tried to play their way back into the game but never really got through Blyth’s defence or test Alex Robertson in the Blyth goal.
Man of the match Asman had an effort disallowed for offside after being unselfishly set up by Laidlaw before Blyth got the fifth goal they deserved.
Ryan Thompson’s cross found David Cardill in the box who headed in to round off a great win.
