Whitley Bay fill fixture gap with friendly

Have your say

With no league game scheduled for this weekend, Whitley Bay have arranged a Friday night friendly at Hillheads against a team from HMS Dauntless, a warship currently moored on the Tyne and which has strong Tyneside connections.

Admission to the game is free but there will be a collection in aid of the Royal Navy Royal Marines charity. Kick-off is at 7.30pm.

Whitley’s next league game will be on Wednesday night, April 2, when they travel to Dunston UTS for what is always a keenly contested game.

Dunston have only been beaten once at home this season and were the side that brought Whitley’s FA Vase run to an early end with a 2-0 victory at Hillheads in December.

New dates have now been announced for two of Whitley’s remaining league fixtures, as well as the date for the club’s Northern League Cup fourth round tie. All are home games.

These are Tuesday, April 8, Bishop Auckland, League Cup; Tuesday, April 15, Celtic Nation; Tuesday, April 29, Guisborough Town.
