Whitley Bay will be playing a home game on a Saturday for the first time in five weeks when Consett are the visitors to Hillheads.
A similar result to the last occasion they played at home at the beginning of September would do nicely, as on that occasion Whitley ran out 4-1 winners over Bishop Auckland.
This weekend’s game will be a difficult one as Consett, currently playing all their games away from home while their new ground is being completed, are lying comfortably in mid-table with only two defeats and have a prolific scoring record, averaging almost three a game in all competitions.
Whitley will be at home again next Tuesday when Billingham Synthonia provide the opposition.
The Synners are usually a strong side but they like Whitley have not made the best of starts to the season and Ian Chandler’s side will be desperate to pick up three points from this encounter, which has a 7.30pm kick-off.
Tickets are now on sale at Hillheads Park for the annual fireworks spectacular, including a laser show on Tuesday, November 5.
The event was a huge success when it was staged for the first time last year and organisers are anticipating another big turn out next month.
