With both of last week’s scheduled games falling victim to the severe weather, Whitley Bay FC will be hoping for better luck on Saturday when they are due to visit Newcastle Benfield for a local derby at Sam Smith’s Park.
However, they will have to manage without two key players through suspension.
Alex Kempster starts a three match ban following his red card at Washington, while Michael Laws faces a one match suspension after picking up his fifth caution of the season in the same game.
Tuesday evening sees Whitley hoping once to stage their Techflow Group Northumberland Senior Cup Quarter Final against Morpeth Town with a 7.30pm kick off at Hillheads.
They will be hoping it is third time lucky, with the game first being called off due to Morpeth’s FA Vase commitments before a waterlogged pitch put paid to attempts to stage the game last Tuesday.
Regardless of the weather, the game would be postponed yet again if Morpeth’s FA Vase game with South Shields is not decided on Saturday.
Whitley’s final game before Christmas is another local derby, this time at home to Bedlington Terriers on Saturday, December 19. They then welcome West Allotment Celtic to Hillheads on Boxing Day, kick off at noon.
