TYNEMOUTH Yellows Under-11’s recent good form continued as they came out on top against a rejuvenated KYPC Jets 5-2.
Matthew Walker was instrumental in everything they did and was unlucky not to open the scoring in the third minute when his right foot shot went narrowly wide.
The Yellows settled into the game well but it was the Jets who took the lead.
But the Yellows hit back and equalised when Lewis Bews was on hand to loft the ball over the opposition keeper for his first goal for the club.
In the second half, the Yellows’ persistence finally paid off when they took the lead through Bradley Ord, who doubled his tally minutes later.
The Yellows extended their lead when Oliver Harrison received the ball just inside the 18-yard box and hit his shot beyond the Jets keeper.
The Jets pushed hard and were rewarded when their striker latched on to a loose ball in the six-yard box and scored.
As the Jets pushed on, Harry Richardson and Ord both went close on a few occasions as he tried to add to his goal tally, but it was Harrison who notched his second and Tynemouth’s fifth with a close range shot.
