Yellows pay for making a slow start

TYNEMOUTH Yellows travelled to Hexham but were beaten 4-3.

Goals from Josh Leighton, Oliver Harrison and Luca Buzzeo were not enough to give the Yellows a much coveted victory.

The visitors were caught napping at the start of the game and were completely stunned when they found themselves 2-0 down after only three minutes.

Despite thi, the Yellows kept to their game plan and slowly worked their way back only to be dealt a hammer blow when they conceded a third after only 20 minutes.

A good spell of pressure was finally rewarded when the Yellows pulled a goal back just before half-time through Leighton.

Hexham stood firm and extending their lead early on in the second period.

But the Yellows fought back when Harrison pulled a goal back.

The second half belonged to the visitors. as wave after wave of attacks saw them eventually reduce the deficit when Buzzeo’s looping volley flew over the keeper and just under the bar.

With two minutes left on the clock, Leighton let rip a powerful shot from distance that beat the keeper, but unfortunately, it thumped against the bar.
