TYNEMOUTH Yellows responded in style to last week’s disappointing result against Hexham Greens when they emphatically beat Hexham Whites 15-1 on Saturday.
Yellows quickly took a two-goal lead through Luca Buzzeo and James Adamson.
Whites were stunned and it was not long before they were further behind. Josh Leighton making it three.
Joey Patsalos made it four before Leighton notched his second goal with a powerful right foot shot.
With 18 minutes on the clock, Leighton completed his hat-trick before adding a fourth a few minutes later, volleying in when David Chandler’s corner.
The Yellows back four had little to do and Dan Jackson, the first half keeper, had even less.
Defensive lynchpin Kieron Cain got in on the scoring when after 25 minutes he got his first of the current campaign.
Two minutes later, Harrison got the Yellows ninth when he latched on to a cross from Cain.
On the stroke of half-time, Leighton capped off a memorable half when he hammered home his fifth and Tynemouth’s tenth.
A Harry Richardson tackle denied the visitors before Matthew Walker added to the Yellows total when he got on the end of a Dan Jackson corner.
Second half keeper Jamie Wills, had to be alert to save a low shot.
Patrick Holliman, Richardson, Aaron Lois, and Joseph Darwent in defence for the home team, had a relatively easy outing.
Adamson got his second and Tynemouth’s 12th before Hexham pulled a goal back.
But further goals from Leighton – his sixth, Buzzeo and an own goal after pressure from Harrison and Buzzeo.
A first class performance from Yellows with every player playing their part in a comprehensive win.
