North Shields Juniors under 11 and under 12 players took part in the first of the club’s weekly coaching camps at their John Spence Community High School base.
More than 40 young players attended the all day sessions throughout the four days lead by the club’s football development officer and UEFA ‘A’ licensed coach Rob Atkin.
The squad coaching syllabus covered individual techniques and skills and a nine v nine game related practices in a positive and fun environment.
Club chairman John Farrage said: “We are really pleased to be able to engage with our players throughout the summer holidays via our squad coaching weeks.
“By offering this type of opportunity the kids will learn new skills and remain active as they build up to their forthcoming season.”
