PERCY Park Pirates took the top prize in the Falcons Beach touch rugby tournament.

Last Sunday’s event took place on Tynemouth Long Sands.
The Pirates beat Onyx Barbarians in the semi-finals to progress to the competition final where they met Blackadders.
Both teams defended well but it was the Pirates who were able to create some space to score and win the tournament.
Last weekend should have seen Percy Park Pirates in Nottingham, competing in the third leg of the Challenge Touch Series (CTS), a national mixed event.
However, the tournament was postponed due to flooding.
When Nottingham is rearranged the Pirates will be competing for a spot in the final eight play-offs, which will be played in Lilleshall at the end of this month.
Percy Park Pirates welcomes new players of all ages and abilities – women, men and kids.
They compete in national and local competitions as well as playing relaxed, fun, social touch on Thursday evenings at Percy Park RFC or on the beach.
