Bay thwarted once again by the weather

WHITLEY Bay FC suffered their fourth consecutive postponement on Saturday when their Northern League game at Marske United was called off due to a waterlogged pitch.

This turned out to be the only Ebac Northern League game to be postponed, and it leaves Whitley with a lengthening back log of fixtures.

This weekend Hebburn Town are due to visit Hillheads in what would be Whitley’s first home game since December 18.

Hebburn ar unbeaten in their last six games.

Ian Chandler’s side will be anxious to get back into action ahead of the FA Vase fourth round tie at Brantham in Suffolk a week on Saturday.

Four of the leading sides dropped points on Saturday but Whitley have still slipped down to sixth place in the table, though they have games in hand on all their main rivals.
