Bay drawn away in FA Vase if they beat West Auckland

HOLDERS Whitley Way face a tricky away trip in the Sixth Round of the FA Carlsberg Vase – if they can overcome league rivals West Auckland.

The Seahorses’ clash against Northern League rivals West Auckland was a victim of the cold weather, with Saturday’s game being postponed – and rescheduled for Saturday, February 18.

All eight of the FA Carlsberg Vase Fifth Round ties were postponed due to snow and ice, but the draw for the sixth round still took place on Monday.

Whitley were last out of the hat, with the winners being drawn away to either fellow Northern League side Billingham Synthonia or Bournemouth.

The Sixth Round ties are scheduled for Saturday, March 3.

If the fifth round Vase match is decided on Saturday, Whitley Bay will host Shildon in a league tie next Tuesday night.

However if it is a draw on Saturday, the leaue match will be postponed to give the Seahorses a full week to prepare for the replay at West Auckland.
