Club hopes ticket allocation is quickly taken

FIVE thousand tickets for the biggest game in the history of Whitley Bay FC go on sale Thursday.

Outlets across the region, including the News Guardian office in Park View will be selling the tickets from Thursday afternoon for the FA Vase final at Wembley.

The club hope the 5,000 will be snapped up by fans within days.

If that is the case more will be ordered so that everyone who wants to see the game can.

Manager Ian Chandler said he is hopeful the club can take more than ten thousand supporters to Wembley.

He said: "We have been given 5,000 to sell and I am hoping we will have sold them within a week.

"I want to have to order three times that.

"There are people taking bus loads and a lot of the other local non-league sides are planning on going down.

"I am hoping that we can get a big crowd because we are the first north east team to go to the new Wembley and it will be full of the blue and white colours of Whitley Bay."

Hundreds have already confirmed their travel arrangements.

Travel agents throughout the north east have been offering special breaks to London so Bay fans can travel together and stay in the same hotel.

And pubs and clubs around the region are arranging their own transport on the day to take supporters to London to watch the match.

The club itself has organised six buses so far to leave Hillheads at 6am on the Sunday morning, and already three are full.

Prices are 30 for a seat on the bus, which does not include a match ticket.

The club are also offering a deal where you can buy a match ticket and a replica shirt for 45, which means a saving of 5.

Shirts will also be available to buy from the club from Saturday, April 25, for 29.99.
