Impressive win for Cullercoats Reserves

CULLERCOATS Reserves pulled off an impressive 3-0 win over Tyneside Amateur League division one leaders Walker Central Reserves.

A brace from Scott Andrews and a strike from Michael Moor saw them claim the points.

Heaton Rifles were beaten at home by Gosforth Bohemian Reserves, despite another goal from Dominic Hall. Peter Hall and Marcus Burn won it for Bohs.

Chemfica Reserves moved into a comfortable mid-table position with a 4-1 success against bottom club Winlaton The Queens Head. Anthony Bruce, David Featherstone, Craig Martin and Luke Salvidge scored for Fica, with Craig Lowdon netting the Queens consolation.

The big game in division two saw leaders Chopwell entertain third placed Kenton Bar, with the home side maintaining their unbeaten record with a 4-2 win. Rowland Lee and Alan Rennison were both at the double for the hosts, while Sam Hands and Reece Webster scored for the visitors.

Newcastle Medicals moved up to fourth despite being reduced to ten men against basement side Newcastle East End. Ross Brown and Matty Carnell’s goals gave them a 2-0 win.

In a game that didn’t get going until ten minutes into the second half, Four Lane Ends Club took all three points at North Shields Town thanks to a 30-yard wonder strike from Michael Collins. Shortly after that Town went down to ten men, however, they defended well against the visitors, doing well to keep the score line 1-0.

In the Neville Cowey Cup group stage, West Jesmond won 3-0 at Ponteland United Reserves, with Kester Young bagging a brace and a further Jamie Kennedy effort.

North Shields Athletic Reserves continued their impressive Minor Cup run with a 3-1 win over Fawdon Park United with goals from Leeroy Odd, Sean Millington and Chris Brennan.

Gosforth Bohemian A were not so lucky and dropped out at the hands of Grainger Park despite a brace from Mark Envy and a David Parker goal.
