Win over Morpeth puts Shields girls up to second

NORTH Shields Juniors Under-12 Girls football team had a great win on Saturday, sending them to second place in the league.

The girls bravely battled back from being two-nil down early on against Morpeth to finally run out 4-2 winners.

The goals were scored by Beth Robinson (2), Lucy Maughan and Natalie Ellis, while Beth Hawksworth was selected as player of the match.

The Shields under-12s team play in the Just Sport Northumberland Girls’ League and are looking to add a couple of players ready to play nine-a-side matches next season.
