WHITLEY Bay FC women’s football team have donated spare kit to Team Kenya.

The registered charity works with disadvantaged communities in Kenya, including running a support group that uses girls football to develop life skills.

The kit, which includes Whitley Bay FC home and away kits of shirts, shorts and socks, T-shirts and tracksuits was presented by Whitley Bay women’s team chairman Colin Phillips to Team Kenya volunteer Anne Shackleton and charity trustee Vicki White at a presentation at Hillheads, Whitley Bay’s ground.

Mr Phillips said: “We are delighted to donate this kit and very pleased that it will be put to good use supporting girls football teams in Kenya.”

Anne Shackleton said: “Girls football is changing lives in Kenya.

“Our coach, Usiku, and his teams will be thrilled by the kindness of Whitley Bay women’s team.”
