JUNIOR and senior champions were crowned at Cullercoats Tennis Club’s finals day.

In the singles, Jordan Simpson won the men’s title after beating Rory Thompson 6-3, 6-1.

Beth Smiles beat Abigail Lemberger 6-1, 6-3 to take the ladies’ crown.

Simpson teamed up with younger brother Daniel to win the men’s doubles, overcoming Stu Cass and James Brown 6-4, 7-5.

The ladies’ doubles was won by Lemberger and Sveta Freeman, beating Smiles and Rachel Knowles 6-2, 6-3.

Lemberger and Daniel Simpson took the mixed doubles title after a 6-2, 3-6, 6-3 win over Smiles and Jordan Simpson.

In the junior competitions, Daniel Simpson beat Thompson in a closely contested three-set match to win the boys’ under-16s.

James Parkin took both the boys’ under-14 and under-12 titles, overcoming Ryan Maughan in the 14s and Will McCamley in the 12s.

The girls’ under-12s was won by Rachel Foreman with Emma Charlton runner-up.

Jonny Jordan won both the boys’ mini green and orange competitions.

He overcame Dominic Gunning in the mini green and Daniel Murdoch in the mini orange. In the girls’ mini orange, Harriet Mutch beat Kat Ovington.

In the mini red, Sam Knowles beat Paul Freeman to take the boys’ title while in the girls’ mini red, Olivia Peterson overcome Zoe Parkin.
