NEWCASTLE United Foundation’s badminton team travelled to Milton Keynes to take part in the first ever Badminton England Premier League 4 Sport (PL4S) event at the home of Badminton England last weekend.

North Tyneside Badminton Academy coaches deliver sessions to the team at Monkseaton High School and Burnside Business and Enterprise College, which are funded through PL4S.

The foundation team were represented by Robyn Luckley, Daniel White and Megan Porter who train every Sunday at the academy.

The other players were Habib Ahmed, Matthew Jones, Simon Cartwright, Sean Stewart, Charlotte Vasey and Lauren Watson.

Luckley is also representing the county in the Under-17 Inter County tournament at Nottingham University over four days in April.

There will be about 40 teams participating with around 500 players.
