An ‘essentials’ badminton course designed for the over 50s is being put on as part of North Tyneside’s Age Takes Centre Stage Festival in October.
The emphasis will be on learning and practising the essential skills of the game in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere, with a fully qualified coach leading the sessions.
The course, which lasts for eight weeks, begins on Friday, October 10, with the sessions starting at 11am and lasting until noon.
There will be a free taster session for anyone interested on Friday, October 3, at 11am.
The course and taster session will take place in Queen Alexandra Sixth Form College Sports Hall, Hawkey’s Lane, North Shields.
The cost for the course is £10, a huge reduction on the normal course fee.
Everyone is welcome, whether a beginner or a returner to the game, and rackets and shuttles will be provided.
Anyone wanting to go on the course needs to complete a booking form – this can be done either at the free taster session, by contacting Sarah Bennett at Tyne Met College on (0191) 229 5314 or by emailing email@example.com
Places on the course may be limited so early booking is advised.
