Badminton course takes place over Easter

An eight-week badminton course for beginners, returners to the game or anyone who has never received any basic coaching, is to take place after Easter.

Bewicke Badminton Club, which plays in the sports hall at John Spence Community High School on Preston Road in North Shields, is organising the ‘Essentials’ course, which will start on Tuesday, April 29, at 8pm.

A fully qualified and experienced local Level 2 coach will take the sessions, which will last an hour.

The aim of the course is to give people the confidence to take part in games and to help them enjoy the sport as well as to improve their strokes.

After an hour’s coaching, everyone on the course will have the opportunity to play games for another hour free of charge and to meet some of the club’s members, and even play with and against them if they wish.

The cost of the eight week course is £35, and everyone will receive a free racket.
