Wallsend teenager Billy Bolt is celebrating a successful August as he continues his dream of becoming a top trials rider.

Billy has so far travelled more than 4,000 miles across France, Norway and Sweden competing in European and World rounds of Youth Motor Trials on his 125cc trials bike.

His proudest achievement to date came last weekend when he was runner up in the FIM world championship, narrowly missing out on first place.

He said: “After working so hard for the past few years it was a dream come true to be on the podium in my first ever world round.”

Billy also won the fourth round of the British Championships in August which was held at Hope Farm, Rothbury.

Billy, who turned 16 in August, achieved four As and four Bs in his GCSEs despite his hectic training schedule and has now returned to Monkseaton High School to study for his A levels.

His ambition of becoming a world famous trials rider is getting closer but he does still need additional sponsors to help support him.
