BOOKINGS are now being taken for the children’s ‘Summer Camp’ at Beverley Park Tennis Club in Monkseaton.
The event will run for a week, starting on Monday July 25, to Friday, July 29.
For four to seven-year-olds there will be sessions every morning, from 10am to noon, and for children aged eight and over, the sessions will be held in the afternoons, from 12.30pm to 2.30pm.
All will be run by the club’s qualified coach Steven Lord.
“There will be a mixture of activities to improve tennis and general ball skills, with plenty of fun,” said Lord.
“We’ll be catering for children of all abilities, including beginners. It is a great chance to take up the sport.”
Bookings are on a first come, first served basis and the numbers are limited.
Forms are available at the clubhouse on Saturday mornings and the week costs £27.50 for members and £55 for non-members.
Meanwhile membership subs for all juniors have been reduced this season.
For under-10s the subs are £30 for the year and for 11 to 17 years, it is £40.
And members get discounts at all coaching groups, plus the opportunity for free use of the all-weather courts.
The after school coaching groups are up and running, from 5pm to 6pm on Monday evenings for four to seven-year-olds, and at the same time on Tuesdays for eight-years-old and upwards.
There is a teenagers beginners group every Friday from 6pm to 7pm, where all are welcome to attend. Rackets and balls are provided.
Membership forms are available in the clubhouse or from the secretary on (0191) 252 1598.
