Collingwood girls top both leagues

Collingwood girls team sit proudly on top of both Northumberland and Durham A and B girls 12s leagues after a good weekend win over Ponteland at Priors Park.

Anna Winship and Clara Louglin gave Collingwood seconds a storming lead, both with 4-0, 4-0 singles wins, then combined to take the doubles.

Libby Hall and Jasmine Hacioglu had tougher games but showed great determination coming through a tough three set doubles with some great teamwork.

The girls 12s seconds now have four wins from four with just Shotley to play in September.

Collingwood boys 16s were relieved after their first win of the season in division A.

The newly promoted team of Matt Robson, Sam Allonby, Noah Neill and Tom Ridley, playing without regular number one Olly Drake, competed well against a strong Northumberland team and eventually came away with a much needed 7-6 sets victory.
