CULLERCOATS Tennis Club 12 and under girls’ team won 5-1 at Tynedale in their first competitive fixture as a team.
Rachel Foreman opened the scoring with an impressive 4-1, 4-0 victory whilst Emma Charlton and Steph Black also had a good doubles win.
Foreman combined with Lucy Giles for a doubles win.
Giles, by far the youngest on court, showed great speed and composure to win a close game in the third set before Charlton also came through a third set.
Black performed really well despite an injury, only just losing out n the third set to cap a great 5-1 Cullercoats win.
Cullercoats’s orange team of Jonny Jordan, Dan Murdoch, Georgia Don, Robert Cooke lost 3-7 to a strong Beverley Park team with Jordan the star for the home team winning both singles.
Cooke also played well to register a singles win.
Cullercoats’s red team had a good win over the weekend at David Lloyd against Beverly Park Club.
The team of Sam Knowles, Max Boxshall, Luke Fawson and Paul Freeman all competed really well to win all their singles matches and move up to fourth place in the league table.
