Collingwood Tennis Club’s boys and girls’ 14s teams both enjoyed good victories last weekend in the Aegon Northeast League.
The girls entertained Yarm at Priors Park with Laura Van Ransbeke ever the solid No. 1 in winning both single and doubles with Emily Harrison in straight sets.
Star for the home team was Anna Winship, who stepped in as last minute replacement and promptly won her doubles with Laura Day but lost a close singles in three sets.
With Day also taking a comfortable singles, Collingwood won 4-2 overall.
The boys team of Gabe Allonby, Sam Allonby, Alex Jay and Josh Harrison all won in a good 6-0 win over Cullercoats with the Allonby brothers dominant at No. 1 and two singles to take Collingwood top of the Aegon Northeast League.
