WHITLEY Warriors have added some Elite League experience to their squad for the forthcoming season.

Former Newcastle Vipers forward Jamie Tinsley has agreed to return to Hillheads.

Having first played for the Warriors as a 16-year-old in the 2005-06 season, Tinsley left to join the Vipers organisation.

And he racked up more than 150 Elite League appearances for the club before it folded in May.

“We are delighted to have Jamie back at Whitley,” said head coach Garry Dowd, pictured.

“And having trained and played with some excellent players at the Vipers organisation for the past five years, we will be getting a much better player than the one that left.

“I know he is looking forward to pulling on a Warriors shirt again, and helping his home town team make another challenge for honours.

“I expect him to be a very useful addition to our squad.”

The Warriors expect to announce more members of their 2011-12 squad later this week and Dowd reminded any potential players that they will have a chance to impress tonight (Thursday).

“We are holding an open training session and would ask any players planning on coming along to be in the dressing room for no later than 8.30pm,” he added.
