Two students from a North Tyneside school have been awarded places at Newcastle Falcons Premiership Rugby Academy.
Shay Ford and Ellis Emerson, of Norham High School, were identified as deserving places in the specialist academy after completing a special course.
The academy will allow the students the opportunity to receive direct training from professional Falcons players and coaches.
Professionals will give them advice and a full insight into what it takes to reach the top level of sport.
Mel Magee, from Newcastle Falcons, said: “Shay Ford and Ellis Emerson have worked really hard and shown great commitment to progressing their skills and are thoroughly deserving of their places in The Newcastle Falcons Premiership camp, provided generously by Land Rover.”
Ellis said: “It’s so great to be able to go to the Newcastle Falcons Premiership Academy camp.
“I’m really looking forward to getting some tips and learning some new skills to use next season.
“I will also be amazing to meet some premiership rugby players.”
