Good wins for Collingwood Tennis Club teams

Collingwood Tennis Club’s 14 and under teams enjoyed two good wins last weekend.

The girls’ 14s of Ailsa Denholm, Esmai Jonczyk-brown, Hannah Chapman and Molly Robinson travelled to David Lloyd Teesside and came away with a 6-0 win, with all girls winning their matches comfortably to keep them top of the Northeast Winter League.

Collingwood Boys’ 14s also enjoyed a good 5-1 win over Virgin Active Wearside with Sam Allonby and Alex winning both singles and doubles comfortably and Tom Ridley taking a good singles at number two and teaming up well with number one Gabe Allonby to win the doubles.

Collingwood mini tennis teams also enjoyed a successful weekend with the red team of Polly Allonby, Ethan Veitch, Elizabeth Graham and Max Thompson gaining second place in the league with a 12-4 win over Cullercoats thirds.

Collingwood’s orange team gave debuts to Evie Cottrell and Matthew Forster, who along with the experienced Malcolm Winton and Jacob Eccles, also secured second place with a win over Cullercoats.
