A youngster is celebrating after picking up a silver medal in a judo competition.

Seven year old Jessie Beckingham was Bushido Judo Kwai’s only competitor in the 2015 Beginners Competition at Churchill Community College, Wallsend.

Jessie has been with the club for just over a year, successfully competing in several events in that time and is currently sitting in sixth position in their medal table.

She competed in the girls primary 25kg event where she got off to a rocky start losing her first contest. The following three contests were a different story and she had three very convincing wins giving her second place and a silver trophy.

Jessie is a very keen member of our club, training twice a week at King’s Estate Residents Association, Milfield Avenue, King’s Estate, Wallsend.
