Judo club members win 14 medals

YOUNG judo stars returned to their North Shields base with yet more medals from a local competition.

Terminus Judo Club entered 11 people into the South Shields Judo Club event, winning a total of 14 medals.

The organisers were Tommy Foster 6th dan and Beth Woods with the northern area secretary of the BJA Wayne Broderick carrying out officiating duties.

Gold medals went to Sean Sutherland, Sam Edmundson, Hannah Dunn, Kieran Dawson, Caitlin McAndrew and Marcia Sa.

Silver was awarded to Jack Ross and Chloe Penton.

And bronze medals went to Jordan Patterson, Ben Patrick and Owen Casey.

Elsewhere, additional medals were won by Chloe Penton (bronze), Caitlin McAndrew (silver) and Owen Casey (bronze).

The club trains on a Monday and Wednesday 6.15pm to 7.15pm for juniors and 7.15pm to 8.15pm for seniors.
