Judo club’s 13 successful at grading competition

Thirteen junior members of Wallsend’s Bushido Judo Kwai took part in the All England Judo Federation Northern Regional Grading held at the Riverside Sports Centre in Morpeth.

The competitors were all successful in their bid for promotion.

Successful were Lewis Andrews and William Compton, 6th Kyu Ichi; Daniel Holmes and Sam Holmes, 5th Kyu Ichi; Kadie Henderson, Lydia Bamford and Adam Bamford, 5th Kyu Ni; Zac Ellerby, Millie Williams and Rachael Bate, 5th Kyu San; Jessica Bate and Jack Compton, 4th Kyu Ni; and Jessica Cairns, 3rd Kyu San.

To win promotion not only did the competitors have to compete with others of a similar grade but they had to demonstrate the techniques applicable to the grade they were being tested for.
