Long running baminton club returns to North Tyneside

Bewicke Badminton Club was founded in 1951, originally playing in the Memorial Hall in Wallsend, moving to Gibson Street Baths, Newcastle in the 1990s.

After many successful years there it has now returned closer to home to play at John Spence High School in North Shields.

Now settling into its new venue, the friendly, competitive and sociable members are looking to find new enthusiastic players with a background in the sport to join its ranks, teams and social outings.

The club boasts men’s, mixed and ladies teams and is affiliated to the Northumberland Badminton Association. They play twice a week on Tuesdays from 8pm until 10pm, and Fridays 7pm until 9pm.
