The owners of a Whitley Bay martial arts club have thrown their weight behind North Tyneside swimmers.

Tracey and Brett Stronach, who own the Reflex Academy of Martial Arts and Fitness, have given Tynemouth Amateur Swimming Club members a timely boost ahead of a gruelling training camp.

The Stronachs, whose academy offers Taekwon-Do Instruction, kick fit, sparring classes and Lil Dragons, have sponsored new hoodies for the Tynemouth ASC members ahead of a week-long training camp in Mallorca.

“We know just how dedicated the swimmers are at Tynemouth because some of their members also train with us,” Tracey said.

“They put in an enormous amount of hard work into their swimming and so when we were asked to help out we were delighted do our bit with the new hoodies.”

“We know from seeing some of the swimmers at our Park Road club that they are really great ambassadors for North Tyneside and so we’re proud that they will be flying the flag for our sporting community overseas.”

Tynemouth ASC manager Tracey Booth added: “It’s really nice to know that the swimmers’ efforts are appreciated across the area because they have all done lots of fundraising for the Mallorca trip.”

“The same amount of dedication is needed for young people whether they are learning martial arts at the Reflex Academy or improving their stamina and strokes at Tynemouth Pool.”
