North Shields-based Terminus Judo Club entered 17 players in the Northumberland Clubs for Young People Open Judo Championships at the Parks Sport Centre.

All the players claimed medals in the tournament with more than 120 entries from clubs in the north east.

The Terminus club achieved one gold, five silver, four bronze and seven runners up medals.

In the primary sections medals were won by Aaron Adlard (gold), Jordan Patterson (silver), Daniel Ward (silver), Alex Evans (bronze), Dillon Waugh and Stan Kennewell were awarded runner up medals.

In the Junior section medals were won by Alex Johnson (silver), Jack Craig (silver), Sam Smith (bronze) while runners up medals were awarded to Toby Bainbridge, Joseph Ward, Mark Dixon and Ben Smith.

In the Primary Girls section medals went to Tilly Maughn (silver), Jodie Eyers (bronze), Holly Waugh (bronze) and Mollie Lovatt was awarded a runners up medal.

The players are coached by Bill Tierney at the club’s base in West Percy Street.
