Badminton players aged 50 and over, whether they are beginners or returners to the game or experienced players, are being invited to go along to a new session aimed at the over 50s every Friday morning between 10am and 11am at Queen Alexandra Sixth Form College in Hawkeys Lane, North Shields.
The session is being organised by Tyne Metropolitan College supported by the North Tyneside Badminton Partnership.
A qualified coach will be on hand to give hints while shuttles and rackets are available for all players to use.
The sessions during October are part of North Tyneside’s Age Takes Centre Stage Festival, and the fee is £1 for an hour’s badminton and tea, coffee and biscuits.
The organisers hope that if there is enough interest the session will continue after October and will become a sustainable group.
Anyone interested can just turn up to the next session in the college’s sports hall.
