THE new coaching programme for Beverley Park Tennis Club in Monkseaton has been finalised.

Prepared by new coach James Newman, it is extensive and offers coaching for players of all abilities and ages, including complete beginners.

For juniors, there are classes for three-year-olds up to 18-year-olds on Saturday mornings, and for five to ten-year-olds also on Wednesdays after school.

New groups include ‘detox tennis’ on Monday evenings for all players aged 16 and over and an over 50s group on Thursday mornings.

A special ‘tennis express’ course on Tuesday mornings is a new programme from the International Tennis Federation, in part designed by Newman to enable beginners to learn to play in just six sessions.

Full details and booking forms are on the club’s website www.beverleyparktennis.co.uk

Places are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

Club chairman Jon Pope said: “We’re delighted to have secured the services of James, who has a lot of experience both here and abroad and has the benefit of working with the International Tennis Federation.

“The club’s new programme is wide-ranging and we hope to welcome many new players of all ages to the club.”
