Beverley Park Tennis Club in Monkseaton has an extensive new coaching programme for adults, with groups to suit all ages and abilities.

On Tuesday mornings there are two groups. The 11.30am to 1pm session is Tennis Express, a new programme from the International Tennis Federation, co-designed by the club coach, James Newman, designed to help new or returning players to serve, rally and score, right from the start. At 10am there is a group for improvers, to help players develop their skills with technical and tactical performance coaching.

On Monday evenings from 7pm for an hour, there’s a new Detox Tennis group for all abilities, with a range of fun drills and exercises to hit a lot of balls and keep active. Players can go at their own speeds – it is for all ages 16 and over.

On Friday evenings from 6.30pm to 7.30pm there is Basket Blitz, a fun session for players of all abilities, rotating between courts, hitting different shots and playing different points, with the coaches feeding the balls. This is for players ten years upwards and adults.

On Thursday mornings the Strictly Seniors group meets for coaching for the over 50s. All abilities are welcome to this group, including those just taking up tennis.

Further details are on the website www.beverleyparktennis.co.uk or call the secretary on (0191) 252 1598 or the coach on 07958 509285 for more information.

These coaching sessions are open to members and non-members.
